Summer’s Way is championing childhood cancer research and treatments
Grant Recipients
In January 2019, Summer’s Way Foundation in conjunction with Friends of TJ established a $50,000 Rhabdomyosarcoma Young Investigator Research Grant awarded annually. As a one-year grant, it is designed to support scientists in the early stages of their research careers, such as postdoctoral or clinical fellows.

The Summer's Way Rhabdomyosarcoma Workshop is an avenue was created that brought the leading experts in Rhabdo from around the world together with advocacy groups and families impacted by Rhabdo. Over a two day workshop leading researchers, clinicians and foundations supporting Rhabdo research come together to present cutting edge research, discuss challenges facing the Rhabdo community, and discuss action plans to advance therapeutic options for patients.
The workshop has led to accomplishments like a national publication in Pediatric Blood and Cancer. It has also led to key collaborations amongst several institutions. These collaborations were rewarded though a million dollar research grant in Rhabdo from the Biden Moon Shot Initiative.
The Summer's Way Rhabdomyosarcoma has proved to be an incredible avenue for the Rhabdo community to progress toward one day finding a cure.
